GAUGE:

24 sts and 28 rows = approx 4½" [11.5 cm] wide and 3½" [9 cm] high, slightly stretched

NOTES:

Hats knitted from brim to crown. Stocking-cap version worked without shaping to peak of crown. Fitted cap shaped within stitch pattern.
